Landscapes
Artist's statement:
I walk the land, hugging the edge of marshes, bogs, dunes, and shorelines in search of inspiring colors and shapes.
As compositions strike me, I sketch and record notes. The paintings are titled at conception. As I prefer to work in series, numerous paintings are recorded at each location. Later in the studio, removed from changing light, I concentrate on capturing the mood of the place and remaining true to the painting's title.
