Artist's statement
Martha's Vineyard holds for me an intangible sense of beauty and peace. I find subjects primarily on
the shorelines of beaches, marshes, dunes and coastal ponds. The early light of the day or the last long shadows accentuate the natural colors and excite my creativity. I prefer to conserve details so as
to emphasize the colors and shapes. This allows me to better express the emotional impact of this unique island.
